Rollerskate, create art, and explore nature this summer! During rewear summer camps, kids ages 6-13, can experience art in nature, swim at Sellwood pool, go on rides at Oaks Park AND learn how to roller skate! There are four sessions offered, and camp runs from 10:00-3:00, Tuesdays through Fridays. DROP OFF AND PICK UP IS AT OAKS PARK SKATING RINK OR AT SELLWOOD PARK. Outdoor art and exploration will take place from 10:00-1:00. Campers will eat lunch outdoors. Please pack a healthy and large sack lunch that includes multiple snacks and water. Indoor rollerskating, swimming at Sellwood Pool, or going on rides at Oaks Park (cost of these activities is included in camp) takes place from 1:00-3:00. Please pick campers up at Oaks Park or Sellwood Park at 3:00. We provide the pick-up location at drop off each morning. This allows us the flexibility to design each week’s activities around the weather and the interests of the campers. Expect a tired child to greet you each afternoon! Ride and skating bracelets will extend he 3:00 pick-up time, so continuing the fun is an option.
Certified teacher, Julianne Stevens, shares her love for nature, art, roller skating, swimming and having fun by teaching these camps for us.
She is wonderful with kids of all ages, and looks forward to
summer fun! Outdoor walks will take place in the natural areas
adjoining Oaks Park- students should wear sturdy shoes and bring a change of clothes, a swimsuit, a towel and socks each
day. If they want flip-flops for walking on the beach by the river, they can bring those too. Stretchy comfortable clothes and covered legs will work best for roller skating.
Machine and hand sewing skills are often the emphasis of our classes. We are also known to dabble in other mediums, such as ceramics, painting, collage and needle felting when upcycled materials are available. Daytime classes are designed for adults, while after-school and weekend classes offer opportunities for school-aged children to unwind in a creative setting after a long day of school. Weekend workshops offer longer stretches of time for students of all ages to engage in their work.
Classes meet at rewear’s southeast studio, located in the Sunnyside neighborhood near Laurelhurst Park, at 3335 SE Washington Street.
Our space is small and intimate, as are our classes and workshops.
